Common WOF Questions

How often do I need a WOF in New Zealand?

Vehicles first registered in New Zealand on or after 1 January 2000 require a WOF every 12 months. Vehicles registered before that date require a WOF every 6 months. We'll remind you when yours is coming due.

What happens if my vehicle fails its WOF?

We'll explain exactly what needs fixing and give you a clear, upfront quote for the repairs. In most cases we can complete the work the same day and re-inspect your vehicle at no extra charge for the recheck.

How long does a WOF inspection take?

A standard WOF inspection takes around 30 to 45 minutes. You're welcome to wait in our customer area or drop the vehicle off and we'll call you when it's done.

Do you do WOFs for trailers and campervans?

Yes, we inspect trailers, light commercial vehicles, and campervans. Just let us know when booking so we can allow the right amount of time.
